Notes for: Moses ROBINSON, Sr.
Vermont Governor, US Senator. He served during the Revolutionary War as a Colonel in the Vermont Militia, and was one of the driving forces for Vermont's admission to the new United States union after independence from Great Britain was achieved, He served a year's term as Vermont governor during the time period it was an independent nation, and his negotiations with the Continental Congress secured it's admission in 1791. He was then elected as one of Vermont's first two Senators to the United States Senate, serving from 1791 to 1795, and helped form the Democratic-Republican part that was led by Thomas Jefferson.
