Her father was Gen. David T. Robinson (1754-1841) of Bennington, VT. Her husband, Dr. Benjamin Robinson's father was Col. Samuel Robinson (1737-1813), the older brother of Gen. David T. Robinson, so, Ruth and Benjamin were cousins.
