Notes for: Harrison Jones FAIRLEIGH
Enlisted in July, 1862, in Company F, Seventy-first Indiana Volunteer Infantry; served a year, when the regiment was organized as the Sixth Indiana Cavalry, and continued in that regiment until mustered out in August, 1865. After the war he moved to Shelby County, Ill., and lived there two years, then returned to Indiana, stayed there one year, then came to Independence, Kan., July, 1870. He then embarked in the livery business three years; was City Marshal two years; then, for thirteen months, was engineer of the Caledonia Mills. He was engaged in other engineering work about two years. He then employed himself on his farm until March, 1883, when he engaged in the livery business
