Notes for: Stephen DEANE

He arrived in Plymouth in 1621 by way of the "Fortune". In January or February of 1633 the court had granted him permission to build a grist mill with monopoly rights if he could handle all the colony's needs. By March of that same year he was chosen to be on one of the committees that would rate the colonists for taxes. The name Stephen Deane is on a list of first born children to get land in 1662, this right was passed to his heirs due to his early death.
