He enlisted in the army from Dedham, MA 2 April 1759 in Col. Francis Brinley's Regiment, served until 22 April 1760.
In service in Nova Scotia, Capt. Simon Slocomb's Co., Col. Frye's Regiment 1 Jan. 1760 - 29 Sept. 1760.
On payroll of Capt. Moses Hart's Co. of Dedham 16 March - 20 Nov. 1763.
Also served in the army during the Revolution: enlisted at Georgetown, Cape Ann for 9 months to go to Fishkill, enlisted from Col. McCobb's regiment. Arrived at Fishkill 16 June 1778.
