Mrs Diana Brown, widow of the late Otis Brown, died Monday, Sept 24th at her home near Mannsville, age 96 years. Mrs Brown was born in Herkimer county, but had resided most of her life in the town of Ellisburg. Her maiden name was Marsh, and her father was a soldier in the revoluntiay war. She was the mother of three children, two of whom survive her, W. Corydon Brown of Mannsville, and Mrs Edwin A. Allen, with whom Mrs. Brown lived and where she received the kindest attention for the last few years in her helpless condition. Mrs. Brown was probably the oldest person in the town of Ellisburg, and a woman of wonderful vitality. Up to three years ago, when she received and injury, she had excellent health. She enjoyed mental as well as bodily health and strength and her personal attributes were such that she had the respect and esteem of all who knew her. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong Universalist. Rev. Diana Marsh, daughter of William and Mary Marsh was born Feb 28 1804, in the town of Warren, Herkimer, N.Y. At the age of 10 her parents moved to Grandville, Washington county,where she resided until she was 20 years of age. In January, 1824 she came to Watertown, Jefferson county, and in 1836 moved to Mannsville. She married Sept 17, 1838 to Otis Brown, the following year took possession of their farm one mile west of Mannsville; her husband died Sept 19, 1875, at the age of 78. In 1888, she with her daughter, Mrs. E.A. Allen, went to Bucyrus, Ohio wher a family reunion was held at her nephew's. There she met three sisters and two brothers, all of whom are dead; three brothers and one sister not being able to be present. Since that period she has resided with her daughter and for more than eight years has been entirely helpless through a fall.
