Notes for: Rebecca FISHER
Rebecca was a noted pioneer lady of southern Indiana. She was one of the leading mid-wives in this part of the state. She was very well known among the early pioneers. She was a woman of medium size, blue eyes, reddish brown hair and possessed attractive ways. When she married Henry Enlow he was an old man. Henry and his brother-in-law went west to seek gold in California. His brother-in-law returned but Henry never came back. What became of him no one knew. The family sold the farm and moved to Dale, Indiana where Mrs. Enlow ran a hotel and her son, William Rust and kept store for several years. Mrs. Enlow purchased a farm and built a small frame house on the farm and moved back to Dubois county. They resided north of the Cooper School house in Cass Township.
