Notes for: Amos SHEPARD

Amos Shepard was commissioned Ensign of the 1st Co., 1st Conn. Regt., captained by Maj.-Gen. David Wooster, April 1775. He was promoted to Lieutenant 1 May 1775 and was discharged the following December. He continued in military service after removal to Alstead, being Captain in Col. Benjamin Bellow's Regt. of N.H. Militia which reinforced the army at Ticonderoga in 1777. He later rose to the rank of General and served many years as a member of the General Court and was president of the State Senate.
