Notes for: George Benjamin SEARS

He moved to NYC in 1887 where he worked as a doorman and later general salesman for wholesale and dry goods firm of James H Dunham & Co., corner of Worth and Broadway. He and his wife returned to live at the Winslow home in Bennington on 1 May 1924. He died after an illness following a stroke. In the Bennington Banner it says he married Nettie Joy, daughter of Edwin Joy and also Nettie L. Keys. From a letter: Dear Harry and Eleanor - The August 29th, 1928 Banner records the death of George B Sears. Among other things the obituary mentioned his cheerful disposition. He is survived by his wife, one son Duane Hopkins Sears of Brooklyn, one granddaughter and three grandsons.
