Notes for: James Davis MEDARIS
James D. Maedaris served in the 1812 War; enlisted Aug 1814 with Capt Robert McQuistions Company, North Carolina, discharged in Norfolk, VA in 1815. and moved to Sidney, Ohio in 1831. James' first wife, Levisa, died in 1838, he moved to Santa Fe (Cuba) Owen County, IN in June 29, 1839, and resumed his profession of Methodist circuit rider. He then married the 8-year widow, Mary Catherine Coble of Monrovia, Dec. 8, 1839. Together near Cuba, they finished raising his family of 10 children and her family of 5. When he died, she received a War of 1812 pension of $8 per month.
