Notes for: Joseph FAIRLEY
BIOGRAPHY: In 1870, Joseph Fairley came to Kansas and settled his familyon the north side of Cedar Creek. They lived there for three years untilan Oklahoma Calvery came and made them move north because their farm wasactually in Indian Territory instead of Kansas. They reluctantly movedtheir farm just north of where the Oak Grove Cemetery is today,approximatly 3 miles outside of Elgin, Kansas.
NOTE:
Mercer Co., was created from Grundy Co., in 1845,
and Grundy Co., was created from Livingston Co., in 1841,
so for the 1830 and 1840 census, see Livingston County.
