He was a grocery clerk in the day and he played in orchestered in the evenings. In the days of silent movies he played in varies theaters including the Playhouse in Montpelier, Vermont and Claremont, New Hampshire
He was a accomplished musician. He served as director of the Bingham Band. He was honorary member Kora Temple Shriners band in Lewiston, Maine and played with them in 1936 in Washington D.C. He taught music in his home for 25 years.
He was employed at Bath Iron Works until April 1946 after the out break of the war. He a member of the Iron Works Band and played at launching of many ships
he help build. He died while on duty as night watchman.
