The following obituary is from Yvonne Carrell and is taken from the Winfield Courier, December 1,1959:

Mrs. Carrie J. Case Dies at Hospital Today
Mrs. Carrie Jackson Case, 93, a longtime resident of Cowley Co., died this morning at 6:50 at Newton Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 5, 1866 in Iowa, Mrs. Case came to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson Jackson, in 1874. The family lived at Wichita a year beforee moving to the Oxford community. She was married to William Case, May 25, 1892 and they went to the Oklahoma territory for a year. They moved to Wilmot in 1893 where she resided until after her husband's death in 1932 when she came to Winfield to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. M.J. Dunbar. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

In addition to Mrs. Dunbar, she is survived by 2 other daughters, Mrs. Dorisatfield of Flint, Michigan, and Mrs. Mary Atkinson of Centralia, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 5 great -grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 Thursday at Swisher-Taylor funeral home and burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
