Notes for: Thomas HEADY III

Thomas III was born in 1780 in Pennsylvania and moved to Kentucky with his father and grandfather. But about 1800 after marrying Rebecca Goodwine, he also decided to go to Putnam Co., Indiana. After staying there for 20 years, he moved to Boone Co., Indiana (which was just up the road and over a piece) after his daughter, Martha, married Joseph Jackson, Jr. and they had moved to Boone Co. Several of Thomas III's children followed as well and became excellent farmers. They were successful, prosperous, and prolific. Thomas III had 13 children between 1803 and 1824 !! Later in life, Thomas the third moved to Noddaway Co., Missouri where he passed away amongst a great many kin.

His children and their spouses are as follows: Sarah married Andrew Sigler; Elisha married a Mary (unknown); Mahala married twice, Daniel Johnston and George W. Rookard; Lydia (1812-1849) married Chauncy Dalrymple; Imri (1813-1902) married Elizabeth Slavens; Goodwin to Mary Wilson; Jacob to Elen Overlease; Thomas IV to Sara Rebecca Rose; Ezra to Emily M. Snider; Rebecca to Thomas Parker; and poor Mary Ann only lived to age 11. Ammon Heady was the king of all the Headys as he married 4 times; Catherine Spencer, Charlotte Davis, Mary Ellen Kise, and Caroline Davis (all of whom are buried in Jackson Township with in the Old Union Church Cemetery as well as at least 50 other Heady and Jackson graves)
