Notes for: James Ellis MCFADDIN

Born in Idaho, apparently raised first in Mexico then in Edwards County in west Texas, James Ellis McFaddin was educated at Peacock Academy in San Antonio, Texas. In the early years of the 1900s he managed banana plantations in Nicaragua reportedly owned by McFaddin family business interests. Because of some yet unexplained "nonsense" which occurred, James Ellis faced execution by the national government controlled by dictator Anastacio Somoza. But before facing the firing squad, he was somehow whisked out of jail and out of the country by the dictator's daughter, Rowena. James Ellis and Rowena were subsequently married.

In later years, Rowena Somoza McFaddin reportedly entered a mental hospital in Arizona because of the lingering fear of being hunted down by her father's henchmen. She died in that mental institution in 1965.James Ellis had remarried.

James Ellis McFaddin became a sheriff and a justice of the peace in Maricopa County, Arizona. [email David McFaddin 21 July 2000]
