Served in the Civil War with Col. Ashley Speight's 11th Battalion (in O'Brien's Company E), Texas Volunteers, Confederate States Army. Killed in the Battle of Fordoche Bayou (Louisiana) on the Stirling Plantation on 29 SEP 1863.
