Notes for: Elias Asbury MCFADIN
The 1850 Census of Cameron/Starr/Webb Cos., Texas, records the three McFadin brothers Elias A. (Elias Asbury), Alfred (Alford F.), and J.R. (Joseph Ray) as unmarried farmers. In 1852, the brothers of Elias A.,"J.R." and "Alfred" were killed in a scrape with the gang of the nortorious Mexican bandit and cattle rustler Cortina in Mexico.
About 1854, Elias A. moved to Kerr Co. to live with his sister's family after the death of her husband Thomas S. Denton. He was there in Comfort, Texas, with them in 1860 at the time of the Census. In 1870, Elias A. was still in Kerr Co., but living alone in Zanzenbourg, Texas.[email David McFadden]
