Notes for: John MCFADIN
The timing of this John McFadin's comings and goings are somewhat clouded. It appears that he was a resident of his father's household in1820 without any family. He married a Naomi McFadin in 1826 inIllinois. (It is not known which McFadin family she was from.) His two daughters are cited as having been born in 1818 and 1822 prior to his marriage to Naomi. (Were they his step daughters, or daughters by an earlier marriage?) His daughters were named successors of their father in settlement of their grandfather, David's, estate in 1851, so it appears they were likely not stepdaughters.
It is said John was in the Black Hawk War while in Illinois.
In 1847, John, along with four brothers and a sister were named in a court suit in Montgomery Co., Tennessee. In the suit, he was noted as "not a resident of Tennessee," yet he apparently died that same year and his will probated in Montgomery Co. in 1848. [email David McFadden]
