Notes for: Jonathan A MCFADIN
David and Mary Elliott 7th child, Jonathan A., is my ancestor. The children shown for him - Ruth Ann and Mary Jane as well as David - are names I was given as having been in the Bible record. Others show the same names. However, the will of David says "after the death of my wife give and bequeath to Mary J.and Ruth Ann McFaddin, daughters of my beloved son John McFaddin" The mother of these girls is unknown. Also the will says "after her death I give and bequeath to the bodily heirs of Johnathan McFaddin and Elizabeth his wife fifty acres of land" These children are not listed; however, after the death of Mary, there was a bill of sale for that tract of land - described as being left to children of Jonathan - with three of the five -Everline (Laney), Prudence J.(Edwards), and Andrew McFaddin -selling their portion to William W. McFadden. At a later date, the same tract was sold by William W. and David W. McFadden. Therefore these five are the probable children of Jonathan. [email Nell F. 20 May 2000]
