Notes for: Samuel MCFADIN
"No solid information exists on Samuel after he became an adult. (Heapparently is not the Samuel of the 1800 Census of Christian Co., KY.)Several of the sons of Captain James McFadin were said by historicalreferences of the Christian Co., KY, area where several resided in theearly 1800s, to be "moving to Missouri."
In 1820, a Samuel McFadin was in the census of Cape Girardeau Co.,Missouri, and a Ginnie McFadin was married there in 1812-14. During theperiod 1830-1850 that same Samuel appeared to have been in Wayne Co., MO,and in 1860 in Iron Co., MO, where he died in 1866 at age 91. On the1850 Census, he cited his state of birth as South Carolina.Additionally, his wife's name was Lucinda Wallace (or Wallis). However,no documentation is yet available that he was a son of Captain JamesMcFadin even though he closely fits the profile of the Captain's son,Samuel." [email from David McFadden]
