Notes for: Jonathon MCFADIN

Jonathon was the second son of Samuel and Lucy (Hampton) McFadin. He was born in Western North Carolina, but like many members of his extended family moved to Warren Co., Kentucky, where he jointly purchased 660 acres of land on the south side of the Big Barren River in 1797.

In 1801 Jonathon married Sally Patrick and had three children, Wyatt,Catherine, and John.

He, like many of his fellow settlers, was a member of Kentucky's Cornstalk Militia, which protected others settlers against the Indians.

Jonathon was killed in 1807, although the exact circumstances are not known.

His widow, Sally, then married Jacob Bozeman 22 JUN 1808 in Warren Co.,KY, and together the family including nine younger Bozeman children and her three McFadin children soon removed to White Co., Illinois. Sally had five more children by Jacob Bozeman." (David McFadden)
