Notes for: James BODKINS

This James moved to KY late 1790s with many of his children, as did some of James' nephews. This James was granted land on the Cowpasture River Oct 6, 1770. He was allowed 50 acres of land for his service in 1758 in Capt. Preston's Rangers. Reference to this found in transcription of Chalkley vol. 1 posted at rootsweb.com/~chalkley/volume1 page 213, March 21, 1780.
From Jan: 1759 - George WILSON sold, in 1759, a 150 acre tract on the Cowpasture River at Shaw's Fork, to William STEUART. The same year he sold an adjoining tract to James SHAW.
