Notes for: Joseph CRAVENS Sr.
By the fall of 1816 the family had moved to Highland Co., OH. There are records of purchases of land in 1816 and 1817.
He provided his daughter Elizabeth with "a bed, bedding, a cow, a spinning wheel, a side saddle, and other necessities to begin housekeeping with."
(from "Riley Marshall" by Mrs. Marshall Beard)
A conveyance of land dated March 1817, relating to John Millburn's estate, noted that Joseph had remarried (Sarah Tuttle).
The Cravens family sold their land in Ohio in 1819, having decided to move further west. Records show purchases of land in Wayne Co., IN in Sept. 1820. They remained there until 1837 when they moved to Grant Co.
