Dear Mr David J. Taylor, I am a descendant of Lt. Robert Moseley and Sarah Peak My GGGgrandfather was Elijah Moseley their fourth son and Mary Polly Barnes. Their daughter Elizabeth Moseley married David Westerfield and had my great-grandmother Mary Catherine Westerfield. She married Andrew Jackson Ralph and had my grandmother Lourena Ralph. She married Daniel Gregory Ward and my father was her 9th child. He was Norbert Ward of Daviess County, Ky. My grandmother was born in Ohio County. My father told us that we had Native American blood way back and that it was Cherokee. My mom said when my grandmother lived next door to them when I was a baby that she told her the stories of her heritage. She said that her mother's people had Indian blood and that it was Cherokee. For the first time this summer I saw a picture of my great grandmother and her features are very Native American...and I remembered my father said his grandmother had a lot of Indian in her face. I have been asking my relatives and contacts from my research and no one had heard of this except me. The old ones are all dead and no one except my father seems to have passed it on. One cousin said he had heard of it but it was a Ward connection. I do know my ancestors came from the Prince William area. I hope it is so because I have always been so proud of the fact that I may have Native American blood even more so now that I live in Oklahoma. I lived my whole life in Owensboro and moved out here in June. I am a teacher of French and Spanish. Thank you for any information you can give me on my family. Sincerely, Ivolou Ward e-mail address Ivolouward@@aol.com

Dear David, When I saw your request for information on the Cherokee heritage of Robert Moseley Sr 1786 descendants I was sure it was through Lt. Moseley or my GGGgrandparents Elijah Moseley and Mary Polly Barnes. I am still looking through my ancestry for clues. Mary Polly Barnes' mother was a Pigman and I do know some of the old settlers in Arkansas, were Moseleys, Pigmans and the Cherokee rolls have Barnes and Wards. I think the Harrells must only be on your line. But I do think somewhere there is one on mine because my dad and grandma said it was there. Also a Ralph contact who is a descendant of my great-grandmother said she had heard itin her family too. I will keep on searching and hope I find it. Any information that you come upon that may help me I would certainlyappreciate. Could you send me an outline of your family tree. I have beentrying to find a file on the Web site with the 80 pages compressed file that you spoke of but I have been unable to. In the Moseley familyhistory is it more than to Lt.Robert Moseley or does it have more down through the line. I hope I am not being too much trouble. I sincerely appreciate any help you can give me or if you know of any sites that mayhelp me in my search for my family. Thank you for your help and themembership in the Taylor Family Web site. It is good to meet my long lost cousins. Sincerely, Ivolou Ward
