David,

If you are interested I can help you with the pedigree of Albinah Hunt
who married Elijah Moseley in Daviess Co., KY.
Also do you have the death dates for Albinah and Elijah? How many
children did they have?
Thanks,

David,

Sorry for asking for data that you had on the web, if I had just
looked. Did Albinah died in Ohio Co.KY? Where were they buried?
You have done a lot of looking to find all of this data.
Isaiah Hunt b. 1 Jul 1777 in Union Co., (District), South Carolina.
His father was Ralph Hunt Sr. b. abt 1740 in NJ. He married
Rachel Campbell abt 1762 in NJ. They were either converted or were
born into Quaker families. They moved to York Co, PA
in 1765, then on to Union Co., SC in 1772. As you can imagine Quakers
were not loved by the slave holding families. As they
would by slaves and give them their freedom. A Quaker preacher came
through the south in the late 1700's preaching that
slavery would result in a holocast in the south. He was a bit early
but it did happen. So around 1800 the Quaker community in
Union and Newberry Counties began moving. Ralph Hunt Sr. died in
1800, Rachel had died in 1790. The Hunt family broke up
most going to Warren Co, OH to the Quaker community. While Isaiah and
his older brother, Ralph Hunt Jr. moved to Ohio
Co.,KY in abt 1802/4. Isaiah had married Martha Douglas in South
Carolina and at least one of the children was born there.
Martha Douglas was born before 1777 in SC. Their children were;
Elizabeth Hunt b. 5 Jun 1800, Union Co, SC and she passed
away 20 Aug 1873. She married David Condit 31 Oct 1827 in Daviess
Co.KY. You have Albinah already. Next was Cintha Hunt
b.abt 1814 in Ohio Co. married John Miller 14 Mar 1837. It seems if
memory serves me that they moved to Muhlenberg Co.KY.
Mary Jane b. abt 1821 in Daviess Co., KY m. Augustine Ellis 19 Sep
1844 in Daviess Co.
Now you know where the name for Albinah's last child came from? I
know nothing of these children and their descendants but
would like too.
Isaiah died in about 1831 as that is when the courts start processing
the land that was not paid for yet. Martha is in and out of
court. Isaiah had no sons so no one seems to have worked up his
children as a whole.
Ralph Hunt Jr. is my ancestor. He left Daviess Co, in 1822 moving to
Spencer Co, IN. There his first wife Ann died and he
married two more times before his death in about 1839. His oldest
son, James McCord Hunt b.1806, KY is my gr-gr-grand-
father. He left Kentucky for Fannin Co., TX in the early 1850's. He
died there in 1865.
The family of Ralph Hunt Sr. can be found in WW Hinshaws,Encyclopedia
of American Quaker Genealogy. They are in the
first volume of six. Then the familes moving to Warren Co, OH can be
found in Heiss's "Indiana Quaker Records."
This family had it's in and outs with the brethern in the Quaker
meetings. It makes for interesting reading to see why they were
disowned and then reinstated over and over.
No one knows the parents of Ralph Hunt Sr. only that they were
English.
They are an interesting family to work with. There are still
several of us working to put all of the pieces we can find together.
Thanks again,
Rob Woods
